Easy Key-Eng-Part-1
Easy Transcribing & Key Change
Part I Easy Key & Chord Finding
0) Introduce
Hi friends, when my eldest brother taught me to play the guitar,
He said, song is ‘sing the scale’, not sing the lyrics,
brother said, to sing scales, will explain music theory easily and never trouble of them
It was a hard days when I first started, but I can find the song key myself easily now.
Here, I selected a Thai song ‘Just for you’ (piangtepudiao)
To recorded the MV “Easy Transcribing” especially for you and share it public.
Copyright: ppkmusic. The song divided into male and female voices singing
Learning Focus:
1) Do not sing the lyrics. Sing Notes into do-re-mi scale only.
2) Do not mind chord name, all the chords recode to the number of chords,
I chord ii chord iii chord..
You will find that recognizing and playing by Chord Numbers is easier and more usefully
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Easy Key Finding
Find key before, do not forget to first, tune your guitar strings into standard tone,
Learn how to find the song key, first you need to understand the Major Scale's structure,
For simple, we may also use the note name label adhere on the finger board,
That can help you to remember the Note Name position, as shown
The Intervals of the Scale same as a ladder,
One step is equal to Half note (Semitone), or One Fret of guitar
‘do-re’ climbing 2 step, ‘re-mi’ also 2 step, but ‘mi-fa’ just 1 step,
Similarly (likewise) ‘sol-la’ and ‘la-ti’ climb 2 step, and ‘ti-do’ just 1 step.
There are two methods to find the song key:
The first low: Ending songs sound method
In most of the song at the end, the last note of melody or bass tone
are often is the main tonic VDO …
“Do”, Is the song key.
The second law: Use ‘Move Do’ to sing note
Select to listen to the section A, repeated listening to it several times with a hum.. VDO …
and sing note scales follow the melody, VDO …
then you can found that the ‘Sol’ note were many.
Take the ‘Sol' note, with the index finger, try to search the same tone
using the 1st string on your fret board, and discovered that in the 3rd fret the sound is match.
Then by ‘Sol’ upward the scale so-la-ti-do, the ‘do’ place label is ‘C’, is the song key.
2) Easy Chord Finding
Easy Chord Finding. Chords are multi-sound not same as melody have only a simple sound,
So Chord Finding have not shortcuts, depend get more listen and practice,
Here I can only introduced the way
It may be best for you to learn to listen to the bass tone (Root),
if bass played C note then the chords may be C, C7, Cm, etc.
Notice and Listen to the bass sound as shown… VDO …
More listen to the chord progression and bass sound from music
Then your ears will tell you what are the chords is by ear

Part II Easy Key Transpose
3) Easy Key Transpose
Hello everybody, remember that in part I, I said that must be Sing Note Scales.
So, recognized the notes of a song, to you, should be not difficult.
If you can Sing Notes, then you can understand when we explain the Key Transpose.
There are two methods to Transpose:
1) Change key with Capo
Capo, is the simplest transposition tool to change the key of a song
Any Open Chords are can be transposed, VDO …
for example, you can play the song in the key of C.
If you clamp the Capo to the 2ndfret that is in D key, move up to the 7thfret that is in G key.
The chords shape are no change, but the tone of the pitch transpose into G key
Like as This song is a male voice sings in C, I am a female voice must be change to in G
2) Change key with Chord Numbers
Do not use note name in the chord progression, such as C Em Am C…
Just name the chords with their in Roman I iii vi I instead.
If we use ‘Move Do’ system, in C when the I chord is ‘do’, then the iii chord is ‘mi’ (Em),
you may mean it by heart that iii chord is ‘mi’ instead of Em
3) Using Chord Numbers to Transpose, the method like this:
Chord Progress I iii vi I, are total 4 bars is one pattern, do-mi-la-do
use ‘Do’ Form Barre Chord, play on 8th fret in C,
the Pattern Form is ‘do-mi-la-do’. VDO …
If you want to change in G, transpose it down 5 fret (5 semi-scale), the Form also ‘do-mi-la-do’
In other words, said in C (C Em Am C) and in G (G Bm Em G),
are using the same Chord Form (shapes) ‘do-mi-la-do’
But sometime you may be playing different Form,
like this open chord in G, the pattern is ‘do-mi-la-do’ VDO …
We can change it to be Barre Chord, on 3th fret, play the same Pattern, VDO …
It called ‘ the same Pattern but others Form’..
The experienced guitarists play Barre Chord instead of Capo to play the song in any key they want
About how to use the Chord Forms, please follow the MV ‘Easy Scale’
If you do not understand yet, check out your guitar Closed Chords or Barre Chords pages.
Well, it’s seem too hard for you, right? Get more practice and try to be good.

Easy Theory-Learn Guitar through Song
Easy Key & Key Change
Easy Song form
Songs have a certain structure types, generally divided into 2, repeating and not-repeating types
This song is a standard four sections AABC Form. A section is the main and repeated.
B section is a Bridge, and the C Section is a Hook. Each section has 8 bars, total has 32 bars
overall
The A1, A2, are composed of verses, which are similar in melody but different in lyrical content.
Section A1, at the end (8th bar), the chord is G7 (V chord) to Imperfect Cadence
And the A2, are use the key chord C (I chord) to Perfect Cadence
Section B, the first start bar, use the difference chord from Section A
Section C Ending at 9th bar, is the Tonic Key Song in C (I chord) to Perfect Cadence.
Guitar Chord Progressions Numbering System
All the chords will be written in Roman Numerals. The upper case for major chords I, IV and V.
The lower case for minor and diminished chords ii, iii, vi and vii.
All chord numbers are base on the major scale, like below.
I ii iii IV V vi vii- = C Dm Em F G Am B- = the one chord, the two chord.., and so on.
The chord progression said in C (C Em Am C) and in G (G Bm Em G) are same,
that is I iii vi I (One chord, three chord, six chord, one chord) also said in ‘do mi la do’.
The degree sign under the vii column stands for a diminished chord.
The G♭ and F♯ are the same scale. One is a flat key and one is a sharp key.
Same pitch just written different.
The Song Number Chords - Piangtepudiao Thai song ‘Just for You’

Section A2 (8 bars)

Section C (8 bars)

I IV vi V IV iii ii7 V7
I (Ending)
Move Do system
Move Do (Moveable “Do”) = transposing system
In Move-Do, the tonic of the key is Do, so Do "moves" if you modulate or transpose.
The tonic is always Do
In Fixed-Do, the note C is always Do. No matter what key you're singing in.
For exsample: The tonic in C is ‘Do’, then C D E F is ‘do-re-mi-fa’. (E F is semi-scale).
When the key transpose to D, D is a new key. The tonic in D is ‘Do’.
Move tonic start from D, and D–E-#F-G.. also sing ‘do-re-mi-fa’…, (mi-fa is semi-scale)
But in Fixed-Do, when the new key in D the scale is D E #F G, (#F G is semi-scale).
Must fixed it to be ‘re-mi-#fi-sol’, no move no change.
Move-Do suitable for singing, with any note as the starting pitch.
There are 2 stype:
Major type = do re mi fa sol la ti do = I ii iii IV V vi vii I
Minor type = la ti do re mi fa sol la (Relative Minor) = vi vii I ii iii IV V vi
*the under line is semi-scale
